CIDNA has carefully and constructively considered its positions regarding multi-family and commercial land use development in the neighborhood. In all cases, we have supported some form of high density development in the neighborhood, but we have been careful to consider the context of the development, zoning, and character of surrounding streets and residences. CIDNA has some of the highest mulit-family density and traffic counts in the City of Minneapolis.
March 1, 2005: CIDNA supports the 56-foot Ackerberg/Village Green Apartments north of the Ministers Life Building. Unanimous vote.
March 1, 2005: CIDNA supports the 56-foot Mathwig/Loop Condominiums east of Tryg’s restaurant and west of the Ministers Life Building. Unanimous vote.
February 7, 2006: CIDNA supports revised Lander Project at 2626 West Lake Street (84 feet, stepping down to the park and the Greenway). Unanimous vote.
April 11, 2012: CIDNA opposes a 13-story apartment project by Bigos Development at 2626 West Lake Street, which would have required rezoning of the property. Unanimous vote.
