The CIDNA Committee has met informally to discuss your preliminary massing and shadow studies. The Committee hopes to make formal recommendations to the CIDNA Board after you have presented your ideas to the community. We have the following thoughts after our last meeting:
- Can you reduce adverse impacts of the tower in terms of shading, massing effect, and access to light and air? What quid pro quo can you offer for a project that is so far out of zoning standards in terms of height limits?
- Can you redistribute some of the tower mass to the plaza with lower-height structures that would transition attractively on the north side of the Greenway (for example, 1-1/2 story units facing the Greenway)?
- Can you present a modified tower option for the Committee to consider that addresses these concerns?
CBC Apartments Height: Can you confirm the height of the Calhoun Beach Club Apartments? So far, City records show that it is 116 feet including the mechanical penthouse, which is what Lander believed was the case. You might be right that it is 136 feet high, but it seems that we should all know the exact height through a method other than counting bricks. You may well be right. With 12 stories, this would imply 136 feet. We just don’t want a faulty assumption in your design.
